Funeral Service for Bertha Bessie Pracht, 86, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, Minnesota with Rev. Jennifer Rose officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Hoernemann, Keith Stotesbury, Dean Olhoft, Danny Pederson and All of Berthas friends and family . Organist will be Olivia Richards with special music provided by Sonny Bartell. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 9th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Herman, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Bertha Bessie Hilde was born on February 2, 1924 in Grant County, Minnesota to Gilbert and Winnie (Cooper) Hilde. The family lived east of Charlesville in Grant County. She was seven years old when she started country school, then the family moved to Benson, Minnesota where she went to school and finished high school, graduating with the class of 1943. She was baptized September 3, 1924 and confirmed May 8, 1938 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota. Bertha was united in marriage to Curtis William Pracht on July 9, 1944 in Benson, Minnesota. The couple moved to Herman where they raised their two daughters Delores and Dianne. Bertha worked in a caf and the theater in Herman, she worked as a nurses aide in Elbow Lake and also worked at the Barrett Care Center and Traverse Care Center before retiring in 1986. Following her retirement she volunteered at the Traverse Care Center. Bertha enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word finds, and beading bracelets and necklaces and talking to family She enjoyed life to the fullest. After Curtis passed away, Bertha moved to the Traverse Care Center in 2002. Bertha passed away September 7, 2010 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, Minnesota. Bertha is survived by one daughter: Dianne (Ronald) Waltz of Minnneapolis, Minnesota, granddaughter: Leslie Ann Pracht of Lexington, Minnesota, great-grandchildren: Stephanie Ivey and Matthew Ivey of Lexington, Minnesota, several aunts, one uncle, and several cousins and friends. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Delores and son-in-law: Clark Bellonger, one granddaughter, Dawn Bellonger and several aunts and uncles.
