Bryan Jon Findlay, age 57, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away January 29, 2015 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Michael Breach officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Pallbearers will be Bryan's son: Matthew Findlay; and brothers: Keith Findlay, David Findlay, Gary Findlay, Daniel Findlay, Roger Findlay and Paul Findlay. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan's grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bryan was born at Wheaton Community Hospital in Wheaton, Minnesota on November 28, 1957 to Joseph Jr. and Shirley Findlay. He was baptized January 13, 1958 and confirmed May 21, 1972 into the Lutheran Faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dumont, Minnesota. He graduated from Herman High School in 1976. Bryan graduated from the Alexandria Technical School in 1978 with a degree in diesel mechanics. He was employed with Ziegler Cat in Minneapolis then was employed with Ron Hurst Construction until he was no longer able to work due to multiple sclerosis. Bryan was united in marriage to Jean Eno on April 24, 1981 in Savage, Minnesota. This union was blessed with a son, Matthew. Matthew was Bryan's pride and joy. Bryan especially enjoyed attending Matthew's little league games when he was young. Bryan enjoyed helping out on the farm. He loved to go hunting with his friends for deer, duck and pheasant in his younger years. Bryan liked to work with engines and fix equipment. Bryan liked to show off his purple Plymouth Barracuda. Bryan enjoyed music and in school he liked to play his trumpet. He passed on his love of music to his son Matthew. Bryan was especially proud the day he learned he was going to be a grandpa. When he was told he would be a grandpa, he beamed! Bryan is survived by his parents: Joseph Jr. and Shirley (Peterson) Findlay of Wheaton; son Matthew (Ashley) Findlay of Prior Lake, Minnesota and his mother Jean Brewer of Lakeville, Minnesota; grandchildren: Odin Jon Findlay and Ike Matthew Findlay of Prior Lake; Uncle Lawrence (Hazel) Findlay of Beardsley, Minnesota; Aunts: Marge (Jack) Smith of Pueblo, Colorado; Gloria Seifert of Waco, Texas; and Virginia Peterson of Morris, Minnesota; brothers: Keith (Kathy) Findlay of Mankato, Minnesota; David (LaDonna) Findlay of Norcross, Minnesota; Gary (Rhonda) Findlay of Herman, Minnesota; Daniel (Bonnie) Findlay of Herman; Roger (Carrie) Findlay of Clinton, Minnesota; and Paul Findlay (Cathy) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Bryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Hazel and Joe Findlay, maternal grandparents: Alma and Theodore Peterson; parents-in-law: Cleve and Shirley Eno; Aunt Eleanor Findlay; Uncles: Darrel Findlay, Verlin Peterson and Thomas Seifert; and brother-in-laws: David Clawson and Steve Ross.
