Funeral Service for Dale Allen, age 90, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, Minnesota with Rev. Lloyd Heroff officiating. Organist will be Olivia Richards with special music provided by Jeanne Sperr. Pallbearers will be Herschel Blasing Jr., Waldon Blasing, Terry Volker, Willis Volker, Ron Volker, Gary Volker and Troy Christians. Honorary Pallbearers will be the late Victor Blasing and Dales grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman. Dale Hans Delmont Allen was born on February 14, 1922 to Clarence and Florence (Suess) Allen in Logan Township, Minnesota. He was the youngest of three children with two sisters, Velma Martin and Emily Blasing. He attended country school through the eighth grade. Dale was united in marriage to Elizabeth Betty Volker on March 3, 1943 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. He farmed his entire life before retiring in 2003. He and Betty milked cows until they were in their mid 50s. In the mid 1970s they began a life long passion of raising Quartrerhorses and Belgian Draft Horses, being involved in many parades around the area. He also took part in the Grant County Wagon Train. Dale passed away on July 27, 2012 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, Minnesota. Dale is survived by his daughter Sandy Christians of Herman, Minnesota, daughter-in-law Cindy Allen of Mayville, North Dakota, five grandchildren: Stacy (Will) Bergmann of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin; Troy (Stacie) Christians of St. Joseph, Minnesota; Rachael Brown of Wadena, Minnesota; Jennie (Marshall) Coleman of Hatton, North Dakota and Laura (Doug) Miller of Kenmare, North Dakota. Dale is also survived by Great-Grandchildren: Wyatt and Bridgett Bergmann, Tayden and Sayler Christians, Taliah and Jaxson Brown, Mitchell and Brynley Coleman and Mashae, Mavrick and Mersadie Miller. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, Son Delmont, son-in-law Marlin and two sisters.
