Doris Anne was born in Brainard, Nebraska to Hobart C. and Ruth (Hyatt) Duncan on July 23, 1920, was raised in Osceola, Nebraska, moved to York, Nebraska, and graduated from York High School in 1938. She married Phillip (Phil) J. Kennedy, also from York, on April 20, 1945 in Long Beach, CA where Phil was stationed in the US Navy during WWII. To this marriage two children were born; a son, Eddie, and a daughter Mary. They raised their family in Golden, CO where her husband was a precision tool maker for the Adolph Coors Company until his death in 1987 after which she returned to York to be closer to family. She came to Wheaton to live near her daughter after her health declined. Doris Anne was a secretary before her marriage, and then was a devoted wife and mother. She loved being with her family, going for car rides, reading, her pets, and eating out. She and her son enjoyed going to model train shows; and attending dog and horse shows with her daughter. She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society while living in Golden. Doris Kennedy is survived by one daughter and her husband: Mary and husband Tim Frew of Wheaton, one son: Eddie Kennedy of York, Nebraska, one sister: Sarah Jane and husband Darrell Blum, also of York, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorails are preferred to the Alzheimers Association of Minnesota and North Dakota. We'll have a video DVD of Doris when all photos are available to us.
