Ethel Zomeren

Funeral Service for Ethel Van Zomeren, 93, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Thursday, July 30th at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Herman, Minnesota with Pastor Mickey Olson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 29th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Herman. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman. Ethel Mary Cook was born on September 6, 1915 to Jim and Mary Cook on a farm southwest of Herman, Minnesota. Ethel was always the farmer, working outside either growing up or later when she married Ben Van Zomeren in 1938 and they moved to a farm just outside of Herman. Three daughters were born to Ben and Ethel; Ruth Vipond (Les) of Elbow Lake, Audrey Schultz (George) of Mound, Minnesota and Nancy Brockton (Ken) of Northfield, Minnesota.
