Funeral Service for Evelyn Boehmlehner, 90, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Organist will be Sara Rinke with special music provided by Lynae Berger and Lynn Propp. Pallbearers will be Micah Boehmlehner, Garth Boehmlehner, Wylie Boehmlehner, Austin Boehmlehner, Joe Sanderson, Ross Findlay and Ryan Peterson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hailey Peterson, Cally Findlay, Tracie Boehmlehner, Stephanie Sanderson, Tianna Sanderson, and all of Evelyns eight great-grandchildren. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with an 8:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning one hour prior to services at the church. Evelyn Louise Green was born on September 25, 1919 in LeMars Township, North Dakota to Thomas and Frances (Slocum) Green. Evelyn was baptized on June 14, 1936 at Bethany Methodist Church in rural Fairmount, North Dakota. Evelyn graduated from Fairmount High School and furthered her education at State Normal and Industrial College in Ellendale, North Dakota, the University of Wisconsin, and Moorhead State College, receiving her teaching certification. She taught school in Wheaton, Minnesota, Springfield, Minnesota and Vancouver, Washington. During World War II, Evelyn worked aboard the USS Coral Sea. Evelyn was united in marriage to Arnold Boehmlehner on July 5, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monson Township. To this union three children were born, Steve, LuAnn and Tom. Evelyn became a communicable member of the St. John Lutheran Church on February 17, 1952. Evelyn continued teaching but also worked on the family farm and raised her family. She loved writing poetry and painting. She would have a booth at the county fair, selling many of her paintings. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, St. John Lutheran Church Ladies Circle, Bible Study, and the Lake Agassiz Palette Club. Evelyn loved spending time with family, and thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren play high school basketball. Evelyn passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Browns Valley Health Center in Browns Valley, Minnesota. Evelyn is survived by three children: Steve (Donna) Boehmlehner of Rosholt, South Dakota, LuAnn Sanderson (special friend Inder Singh) of Los Angeles, California, and Tom (Lori) Boehmlehner of Wheaton, Minnesota, one brother: Charles (Phyllis) Green of Fargo, North Dakota, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four brothers-in-law: Glen Keim of Fargo, North Dakota, Stan Kaye of Florida, Ervin Boehmlehner of Wheaton, Minnesota and Ervin Klemm of Browns Valley, Minnesota, one sister-in-law: Vyonne Totzke of Wheaton, Minnesota, and one son-in-law: Bob Sanderson of Kansas. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Blanche and Anna Marie, and one step-grandson: Jason Sanderson.
