Funeral Service for Gertrude DeBrobander, 94, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Schmitz, Don Hansen, David Rinke, David Benson, Bill Buss, Roger Schmidt, Rev. Gordon Bock and Rod DeBrobander. Honorary Pallbearers will be Evie Rinke, Connie Benson, Eunice Elaine Schmitz, Anne Hansen, Ruth Bock, Vernell Buss, Virginia Schmidt, Rita DeBrobander, Marge Peterson and Ann Rinke. Organist will be Sara Lee Rinke. Interment will be held in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Friday, October 15th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Gertrude Bertha DeBrobander was born June 1, 1916 in Walls Township, Traverse County, Minnesota to Fred and Hulda (Berneking) Schmidt. Gertrude dearly loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She liked birds, flowers, butterflies and gardening. She enjoyed wild flowers and weeds in the ditches and fields, especially the golden rod in the fall. She liked to sew, cook, crochet, read and work on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed many years as a member of the Elizabeth Circle of St. John Lutheran Church, and also a member of the Homemakers Club. Gertrude passed away on October 13, 2010 at Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale, Minnesota. Gertrude is survived by her Husband: Richard DeBrobander of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, one Daughter: Sharon Lee Millard of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, one Granddaughter: Nadine Kay Millard of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and one Grandson: Brent Alan (Mary Sue) Millard of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, and three Great-Grandchildren: Bradley, Spencer and Anna Marie Millard. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Agnes Ingwerson, Verna Jackson and Gladys Cordell, and one son-in-law: Bradley Millard.
