Golda Keppler of Wheaton passed away Thursday evening, November 1, 2007 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Golda Keppler was 91 years old. Funeral Services for Golda Keppler will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6th at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton with Pastor Tim Shekleton officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM from 7:00 PM Monday evening at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton, and at the church 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Graceville Cemetery near Graceville, Minnesota. Golda was born in Lamberton, Minnesota to Paul and (Jenny Van Buren) Marquardt. She attended schools in Danvers, Collis and Johnson, Minnesota. After she married Leslie Keppler on January 8, 1944, they farmed and raised a family together near Wheaton. Later they moved to the Graceville area and continue to farm. In 1964, Leslie started to work for the Traverse County Highway Department and they moved back to the Wheaton area. Leslie was killed in July of 1965. Golda spent many years working for Crandells Cafe in downtown Wheaton. In 1991 Golda moved to Milbank for awhile before returning to Wheaton. She entered the Traverse Care Center in July of 2007. Golda loved to sing and had a great sense of humor. She was also very strong in her religious faith. She enjoyed visiting, card playing and could play the guitar, tap dance and yoddle. Golda is survived by 4 children: Lois and LaVern Eggum of Dalton, MN, Joyce and Tom Lillehaug of Mira Loma, CA, Mary and Ed Montplaisir of Detroit Lakes, and Robbert Keppler of Wheaton, 1 sister: Leora Rehnke of Milbank, SD, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leslie in 1965, 2 sons: Dennis and Roger, 1 brother: Albert and 2 sisters: Vivian and Cleo.
