Henry Rinke

Funeral Service for Henry Albert Rinke, 97, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Organist will be Sara Rinke. Pallbearers will be Henrys Grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henrys Great-Grandchildren. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning one hour prior to services at the church. Henry Albert Rinke was born on June 3, 1912 to William and Lena (Issendorf) Rinke in Dollymont Township, Traverse County, Minnesota. Henry was baptized July 7, 1912 and confirmed April 10, 1927 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dumont, Minnesota. Henry was united in marriage to Anna Schelter on June 28, 1939 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. They worked side by side caring for their family and farming. Henrys passion was farming and he continued to help his son and grandsons on the farm well into his eighties. He expressed to them concern about the fall harvest just days before his death. Henry was active in his church and community. He taught Sunday School and served on the Church Council. He was a Croke Township Supervisor and served on the boards of Wheaton Co-op and Fargo Cass Clay Creamerys, and the Traverse County Fair. He was a member of the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association. Henry and Anna moved to the Rosholt Care Center in June of 2008 where Henry passed away on January 8, 2010 with his family at his side. Henry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anna Rinke of Rosholt, South Dakota, Sons: David (Evie) Rinke of Wheaton, Minnesota, Donald (Karen) Rinke of Willmar, Minnesota, and Douglas (Lee) Rinke of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Daughter: Roxanne (Glenn) Schmitz of Hawley, Minnesota, Grandchildren: Michelle (Tom) Koch, Marc (Suzanne) Rinke, Darin (Michelle) Rinke, Daniel (Heidi) Rinke, Jodie (David) Douglas, Jennifer (Todd) Lee, Nathan Rinke, Teri (Todd) Smith, Troy (Kim) Rinke, TJ (Tara) Rinke, Ryan (Robin) Schmitz, Jesse (Anna) Schmitz and Cody (Brooke) Schmitz, Step-Grandchildren: Rachael (Ryan) Loney and Nathan (Jeni) Albrecht. Henry is also survived by thirty-five Great-Grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Emma, and six brothers: Arthur, Ervin, Alfred, William, Lester and Glyndon.
