Ivan Neumann

Ivan Neumann, age 78, of Wheaton passed away June 11, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Fargo North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 15, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Pallbearers are seven grandsons, Brian Neumann, Casey Neumann, Kristopher Neumann, Anthony Neumann, Taylor Neumann, Eric McClellan and Tim McClellan. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 14th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Ivan was born on October 23, 1930 in Wheaton Minnesota. Ivan graduated from Wheaton High School in 1949. He went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps in 1952 and was discharged in 1954. He was united in marriage to Donna Doll on January 8, 1952. Together they had six children, Joey (infant deceased), Neal, Keith, Kris, Mike and Susan. Ivan worked for Powers and Culligan for many years before opening Neumanns Bar in October of 1970. Ivan also spent over 20 years on the Wheaton Fire department, also serving as Fire Chief. He also served on the ambulance crew. Ivan was dedicated to supporting Wheaton football by running the chains for over 40 years. Ivan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports being a devoted fan of the Vikings and the Twins. Ivan is survived by five of his children, Neal (Diana) of Minneapolis, Keith (Julie) of Willmar, Kris (Tom) McClellan of Hibbing, Mike (Jan) of Wheaton and Susan of Sioux Falls, SD. His siblings, Arlene Young , Lucile Eggers, Mabel Neumann and Doris Rixe. Ivan had eleven grandchildren, Brian Neumann, Katie Neumann, Meghan Neumann, Anthony Neumann, Taylor Neumann, Eric McClellan, Molly McClellan, Tim McClellan, Jamie (Neumann) Kindelberger, Casey Neumann and Kristopher Neumann. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna, his infant son Joey, his brother Marvin Neumann and sister Florence Kassahn.
