After graduating from high school, Jerry attended North Dakota State College of Science where he studied diesel mechanics. He then went to work at Swanson Equipment in Fergus Falls. It was during this time while working in Fergus Falls, that Jerry met the love of his life, Gloria Greene. The two were married on July 15, 1967, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Jerry and Gloria built a wonderful life together, welcoming their children, Angie and Chris. Family was at the heart of Jerry’s life, and he treasured the time they spent together. Over the years, the family made many memorable trips to Canada, Florida, Pennsylvania, Alabama and other destinations, creating stories and memories that will be treasured for generations.

Jerry had many passions and hobbies. He loved restoring antique tractors and trucks, working with wood, and being outdoors whenever he had the opportunity. Farming held a special place in his heart, and he could often be found helping with farming during the spring and fall. He especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with his son Chris and grandson Payton. Their multiple trips were filled with laughter, adventure, and thankfully plenty of successful fishing.

Above all else, Jerry loved people. He cherished his family and friends and valued every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. His generosity, hard work, sense of adventure, and love of family left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
