Funeral Service for Julia M. Jacobs, 97, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Monday, October 29, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Visitation will be held Monday, one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Julia Vogele Jacobs was born on a farm near Collis, Minnesota on August 30, 1910 to Martin and Aurelia (Brandt) Osterman. Julia was the oldest of five children. She was baptized in the Parnell Lutheran Church by Pastor Faedtke on October 10, 1910, and confirmed March 26, 1926 by Pastor A.H. Gierke. She attended 8 years of Elementary School in District 6 Walls Township. She married Fred W. Vogele March 21, 1934. They lived on a farm by Dumont, until Fred passed away on August 7, 1943. Julia and the boys moved to Wheaton in October of 1943 and purchased a home. She was employed at the Bakery, Wheaton Department Store and the State Bank. She married Frank Jacobs August 29, 1970. Frank passed away December 5, 1975. Julia was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Womens Missionary league since 1944, and the Senior Citizens since 1968. She did volunteer work at the Senior Citizens and the Nursing Home. Julia passed away October 24, 2007 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, Minnesota. Julia is survived by one son: Fred (Nancy) Vogele of Oakdale, Minnesota, Daughter-in-law: Lois Vogele of Tyler, Minnesota, one brother: Marvin Osterman of Montevideo, Minnesota, two sister-in-laws: Jean Osterman of Wheaton, Minnesota & Clara Osterman of Alexandria, Minnesota, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. Julia was preceded in death by husbands: Fred Vogele Sr. & Frank Jacobs, one son: Bernard Vogele, one sister: Evelyn Osterman & two brothers: John & Lyle Osterman. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the St. John Lutheran Church.
