Funeral Service for Laura Anna Marie Johnson, 96, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Gordon Bock officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Lauras Family, Friends & Neighbors . Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Thursday, one hour prior to services at the Ranney Funeral Chapel. Laura was born on January 18, 1911 to Charles F. and Lizzie (Paul) Koch on a farm near Wheaton, Minnesota. She attended rural District 45, then attended and graduated from the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris, Minnesota. After graduating from the Moorhead State Teachers College training program she taught rural school near Wheaton and in Wendell, Minnesota. On February 27, 1942 she married Leslie S. Johnson in Junction City, Kansas. After Leslies return from Military Service in WWII, they farmed near Wheaton. They lived on the farm until Leslies death on January 17, 2003. Laura moved to an apartment in Wheaton where she lived until March of 2007. She was a lifelong active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. She enjoyed music and playing the piano, reading, corresponding with friends and relatives, church and homemaker groups, quilting and other crafts, and tending to her houseplants. Laura passed away on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Laura is survived by her daughter: Rosalyn Cohen of Morris, Grandson Shimon Cohen & great-grandson Marc Cohen of Becker, Minnesota, granddaughter: Marnie Cohen and great-granddaughter Mackenzie Cohen of Alexandria, Minnesota, brother: Herman (Adeline) Koch of Montevideo, Minnesota, sister-in-law: Clalia Koch of Wheaton, Minnesota, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Laura was preceded in death by her husband: Leslie, brother: William Koch, infant son: Quentin, infant twin brothers: Walter and Wallace, and great-grandson: Paul Cohen. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association
