Lucille Rose (Weick) Lundquist, age 96, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, at Capstone at Station Camp (an assisted living center) in Gallatin, TN.  She was surrounded by family members.

Lucille was born January 29, 1928, in Graceville, MN.  Lucille was the daughter of George and Ellen Weick.  She was baptized and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church in Parnell Township, MN.   She attended grade school at District 37 and District 23 schools in Traverse County, MN and graduated in 1945 from Graceville High School.

Lucille was united in marriage to Robert Kenneth Lundquist at Siloah Lutheran Church on April 10, 1949.  Lucille and Robert had four daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Allen of Blaine, MN, Lucene Lundquist of Hendersonville, TN, Monica Lundquist of Gallatin, TN, and Rhonda (Jeff) Holt of Hendersonville, TN.  Lucille had two grandsons, Trey, and Brad Holt.

Lucille stayed at home for four years after graduating from high school to help care for her siblings.   After marrying Robert, she became a lifetime housewife and homemaker.  She belonged to Missionary Society, Ladies Aid, Charity Circle and WELCA.   She taught Sunday School and was a counselor for High League for many years.  She also belonged to Traverse County Extension Club.

She had a love for sewing, making many clothing items for her girls and other family and friends.   Her love of sewing brought her to quilting.  She made many quilts for family, friends, and the Lutheran World Relief.  Her other interests were furniture refinishing, scrapbooking, photo albums, and gardening.  Lucille exhibited her many works at the annual Traverse County Fair for many years.  Lucille and Robert spent a lot of their retirement years going to estate sales and auctions.  They also traveled and vacationed with their daughters and their families.  Lucille and family owned a player piano for several years and she enjoyed playing the piano rolls on the antique player piano.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Robert, an infant son, her parents George and Ellen Weick, her siblings, Ilene Lundquist, Ellis Schedin, Merle Weick, Warren Weick, Howard Weick, and Wayne Weick.

Lucille is survived by her four daughters, two sons-in-law and two grandsons.  She is also survived by her siblings, Ruth Nelson, Janice Shepard, Donna Snyder, Shirley Seifert, Marvin Weick, Earnie Weick, Doug Weick.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Cheryl Berg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be at Siloah Cemetery in Parnell Township.
