Magdline L. Siegel, age 85, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Wheaton.

A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton with Rev. David Strom officiating. Violinist will be Laurie Strom. Lunch will be served at the American Legion following the service for family and friends.

Magdline L. Siegel was born on May 30, 1931 to Carl and Carrie (Hollander) Eggen in Timber Lake, South Dakota. She attended school in Fairmount, North Dakota through seventh grade. She attended eighth grade in White Rock, South Dakota before working as a waitress at the Home Café in Wheaton.

On March 17, 1948 Magdline married Wayne Siegel in Wheaton. The couple resided in White Rock with Magdline's parents and helped them farm. Their first born daughter Diane was born while they were in White Rock. From there they moved to Norcross, Minnesota and continued farming. While living in Norcross they welcomed two more daughters Faye and Durene. After returning to White Rock, Magdline worked for Helen Welton as a waitress and also worked on a turkey farm for Paul Roser.

In 1964 they moved to Lamberton, Minnesota where Magdline worked part time in a chicken hatchery. In 1968 they moved to Deer River, Minnesota where they managed a truck stop. The couple decided to move back to Wheaton in 1973 and purchased the Standard Café and Gas Station. She worked as a cook and waitress there until she retired. After retiring she babysat out of her home. She was a grandma to many.

Magdline was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a member of the Wheaton Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her wonderful donuts. Magdline loved to cook, bake, fish with family and friends, and loved her family.

Magdline is survived by three daughters: Diane (Lonn) Olson of Monticello, Minnesota; Faye (David) Radanke of Prior Lake, Minnesota; and Durene (Jack) Danielson of Wheaton; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth (Dave) Bothun, Dwayne Olson, Malissa Radanke, Jeana (Jared) Novotny, Michael (Stephanie) Radanke, Tracy (Darin) Hanson, Jackie (David) Doust and Cassie (Lyle) Yuenger; sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lorise Siegel of Wheaton; Stella McCurdy of Iowa; and June Herrmann of Wheaton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Magdline was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
