Funeral Services for Margaret Sax, 80, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton with Fr. Joe Vandeberg officiating. Pallbearers will be Brad Zimmel, Jeff Zimmel, Chad Zimmel, Troy Abraham, Taylor Sax, Brian Sletten and Dan Uche. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All of Margaret's Grandchildren". Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 25th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ave Maria Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Margaret was born on July 1, 1929, in Traverse County, Walls Township, near Wheaton. Margaret was the third child of Edward and Mary (McElwain) Abraham. She was baptized and confirmed at Ave Maria Catholic Church, Wheaton, MN. Margaret attended District 15 school through 8th grade in Walls Township and later Wheaton High School. On April 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Dale Sax. To this union five children were born, Gloria, Diane, Mary, Glenn and Edward. The family lived in Detroit Lakes from 1947-1952 before moving to Alexandria for a short time. In 1952 the family moved to rural Wheaton. From 1962-1968 Margaret and Dale operated LeRitas Steakhouse. Margaret and Dale built and operated Dales Steakhouse from 1968 until retirement in 1995. Margaret was in charge of the dining room where she knew most customers by name, what table they wanted, and what they would order. Margaret enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed doing needlework and crocheting. Margaret made many special gifts that were cherished by her family and friends. In her later years she was a member of the Quilters group at Ave Maria Catholic Church. She was a longstanding member of the Merry Mrs. Homemakers Group and Ave Maria Ladies Guild. Margaret enjoyed time spent with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret passed away on March 23, 2010 at the Browns Valley Health Center in Browns Valley, Minnesota, at the age of 80. Margaret is survived by children: Gloria (Jack) Cory of Wheaton, Diane (Leonard) Zimmel of Wheaton, Mary (Marvin) Best of Albuquerque, N.M., Glenn (Penny) Sax of Des Moines, IA, and Edward (Karen) Sax of St. Roberts, MO. Grandchildren: Marcy (Daniel) Uche, Jo Cory, Lisa (Brian) Sletten; Jeffrey Zimmel, Chad (Haley) Zimmel, Brad (Amy) Zimmel; Erin Best (Daniel Cummins), Kerry (Darin)Anderson, Cara (Anthony) Gartner, Joshua Sax, Taylor Sax; Derrick, Sean and Gavin Sax; Great Grandchildren: Abigail, Isaac and Minah Uche; Collin, Logan and Reegan Sletten; Sierra Cory; Andrew, Austin and Anissa Zimmel; Mason and Taylor Zimmel; Carlie, Hannah and Chloe Zimmel; Myah Anderson; McKinsey and Kylen Gartner; sisters Doris (Clarence) Johnson, Marie (Art) Olson; brothers Jim Abraham, David Abraham (Rose). Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Abraham; husband, Dale Sax, brother Vince Abraham, and grandson, Mark Cory.
