He always said that his mother called him Sonny because he was so bright! Wilbert passed away on December 25th, 2010 at the age of 85 at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN, due to numerous health problems, including a recent diagnosis of multiple myeloma, and its various complications, including several fractured vertebrae. Margaret and Sonny were inseparable even in death, as they died only 21 hours apart. In life, they were always with one another! The two of them enjoyed vacations together and were often out bumming to nearby towns, where Sonny frequently took Margaret shopping for cozy blankets and special trinkets for the grandkids. Their only granddaughters, Taylor and Savannah, were their pride and joy, and Grandpa and Grandmas eyes always sparkled and their spirits were lifted when the kids came to town! Competitive games of Monopoly and hide n seek were among some of their favorite pastimes together. Margaret also loved being mom, incessantly feeding her family, baking cookies and cakes, watching westerns, and her lovely petunia garden in front of her house. She will always be known for that farmers cap on her head, her desire to keep warm, and her candid spunk. Sonny enjoyed his beloved dog Chief, tinkering on the farm each day, reading, fishing, singing, cracking jokes, and passing the time with the coffee shop fellas at Homers (Hall of Knowledge). His dedication to the community is evident by his participation in organizations, including 4-H, as both a youth member and an adult leader, his work as treasurer for the local livestock shipping association, as a Wheaton-Dumont Coop Elevator board member, also as a trustee at St. Johns Lutheran Church, and as a 30 plus year Walls Township treasurer. He will always be remembered for his very witty sense of humor, his hard work, and his love of his farm, which in its height included 700 laying hens, 100 plus feeder cattle, 50 plus hogs, several sheep, and butcher chickens. After all of their hard work, they can now rest in peace. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Zulma Delmeire, husband Ray W.
