Marion Wilson

Marion Wilson, age 86, of Dumont, Minnesota, currently residing in Wheaton, Minnesota passed away August 24, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton with Fr. John Paul and Fr. Stanley Wieser Celebrants. Organist will be Cindy Sanasack with special music by Ken Hodgson. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Dumont, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, August 28th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Marion Schmid was born February 7, 1930 in Wuppertal, Germany to Francis and Martha (Struken) Schmid. She attended school through 12th grade and worked as a telephone operator. She married Alex (Alexander Wyszotrawka) Wilson.

After daughter Wanda was born, they immigrated to Breckenridge, Minnesota-USA, where they were sponsored by Leo and Catherine Yaggie. In 1955, Marion and Alex purchased the Dumont Grain Elevator in Dumont, Minnesota. There they raised their six children whom they were very proud of. She was grateful to be welcomed and embraced by Dumont and the surrounding communities. Marion thoroughly enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marion loved flowers, reading, crossword puzzles, music, cards and their retirement home in Arizona. Special in her heart was her dog Mitzi, given to the couple by their children. She enjoyed her last years in Prairieview Place in Wheaton. People were always surprised that when they hadn't seen Marion for a long time, she always remembered them. She liked to visit with people and catch up with their lives.

Marion, like Alex, was very proud to be an American. Marion's children are very thankful that Alex and her made such a brave journey to an unknown land. Marion was loved by her family and will be missed very much.

Marion is survived by six children: Wanda (Art) Grell of Savage, Minnesota; Michael (Vicki) Wilson of Prior Lake, Minnesota; Anthony Wilson of Dumont, Minnesota; Thomas (Robin) Wilson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Bruce Wilson of Burnsville, Minnesota and Douglas (Monica) Wilson of Wheaton; fourteen grandchildren: Andrea (Josue) Sabillon, Bill (Erin) Grell, Leah (Jeremy) Dahlback, Joe Wilson, Suzanne (Rob) Hansen, Heather Wilson, Kara Wilson, Shamus Wilson, Christin Wilson, Haley (John) Benjamin, Jordan Wilson, Aaron (Tiffany) Wilson, Riley Wilson & Isaac Wilson; great grandchildren: Brenna Wilson, Isabela & Cecilia Sabillon, Colin Grell, Cecelia Wilson, Lola & Max Dahlback, Kai & Rowyn Hansen.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband Alex; and daughter-in-law Jennifer Wilson.
