Melvin Frounfelter of Wheaton, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Melvin was 96 years old. Funeral Services for Melvin Frounfelter will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 10th, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Pastor Tom Olson will officiate. Visitation will be at the Ranney Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. Melvin was born August 13, 1911 at Wheaton, Minnesota, the son of Maurice and Emma Frounfelter. He grew up in rural Wheaton where attended Country School. He married Lillian Olhoft on September 19, 1941 in the Hope Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Melvin operated a Livestock Trucking Business from 1936 until 1970, at which time he sold the business. He then worked for Anderson Garden Center and later Marcies Garden Center until 1990. During his time at the garden center he also enjoyed tending his vegetable garden. Melvin was a member of the ODD Fellows Lodge for over 10 years. Melvin Frounfelter is survived by his wife Lillian of Wheaton, and 1 son John Frounfelter of Minneapolis. Sister-in-law: Norma Frounfelter of Wheaton, 1 brother: Harry Frounfelter of Wheaton, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Clark and Walter Frounfelter and his sister Alice.
