Muriel H. Jacobson, 86, of St. Paul, died February 18 2006, at Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, MN. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 21st, at the Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton, MN with Pastor Brad Lewis (her nephew) and Pastor Tim Shekelton officiating. Pallbearers were her great nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. Muriel was born May 21, 1919 in Wheaton to Carl and Clarissa (Larson) Jacobson. She grew up in Wheaton attending school and graduating from Wheaton High School in 1937. She was confirmed in the Bethlehem Covenant Church. Her major employment was 37 years with Northwest Airlines where she held various positions. She was a Supervisor of Reservations at the time of her retirement n 1982. Muriel enjoyed traveling extensively with her work. She had extended stays abroad and within the U.S., with the longest stay being in Seattle, WA. Muriel was an active participant in her community and was on the Lilydale Planning Commission for 20 years. She enjoyed her years of volunteer work with the Minnesota Historical Society. She was a member of the Fort Snelling Memorial Church in St. Paul. Muriel will always be remembered for her zest for life, her desire to continually learn, her Scandinavian roots, and her love of her family and friends. She was an exuberant and loved Auntie Mur to more than one generation of nieces and nephews. Muriel is survived by one sister: Alice Vollmers of Wheaton, one brother-in-law: Gordon Lewis of Wheaton, one sister-in-law: Dora (Bucky) Jacobson of Wheaton, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: LaVera Mackner and Pearl Lewis, one brother: Lawrence Jacobson, two brothers-in-law: Marvin Mackner and Alvin Vollmers. Memorials are preferred to American Diabetes Assoc., the Fort Snelling Chapel, or the Minnesota Historical Society.
