Funeral Service for Pearl L. Berneking, 88, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, October 27, 2006 at Augustana Lutheran Church, White Rock, South Dakota with Pastor Suzanne Benidt & Sheila Pohl officiating. Pallbearers will be Darin Anderson, Delane Anderson, Eric Score, Tony Roorda, Gary Anderson & Marlyn Larson. Organist will be Edelle Magnuson. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton, Minnesota. Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pearl Lucille Anderson was born on December 10, 1917 in rural Traverse County to Swan and Minnie (Larson) Anderson. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith as a young girl, and confirmed on October 9, 1932 at Augustana Lutheran Church in White Rock, South Dakota. As a young woman, she helped neighbors, her mother and her sisters. She also worked at the West Central Minnesota School of Agriculture, Morris, Minnesota, and at the Hospital in Graceville, Minnesota. She married Garold Berneking on December 20, 1942 at the Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Wheaton, MN. She and Garold spent the majority of their married life on their farm North of Wheaton. Garold passed away on February 8, 2002. Pearl passed away on October 25, 2006 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Pearl is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonita & Larry Mesenbrink, of Wheaton, Minnesota, three granddaughters: Amy & Tony Roorda of Ypsilanti, North Dakota, Cindi Mesenbrink of Fargo, North Dakota, & Sara & Eric Score of Horace, North Dakota, 5 Great grandchildren: Raina, Masie, and Edisen Score & Andy & Allison Roorda, 2 Sisters: Geneva Grothe of Wheaton, Minnesota & Rosella Goodwalt of Wheaton, Minnesota, 2 Brothers: Webber (Lois) Anderson & Darwin (Donna) Anderson both of Wheaton, 2 brothers-in-law:Eugene Fridgen & Frank Finke both of Wheaton, Minnesota, one sister-in-law: Mary Anderson of Morris, Minnesota and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Garold, her parents, Swan & Minnie (Larson) Anderson, 3 brothers Gordon, Glenn, and Wallace, 4 sisters, Bernice Paul, Doris Fridgen, and Donna Finke, and a baby girl, also 2 brothers-in-law, Henry Grothe & Sam Goodwalt and 2 sisters-in-law, Caryl Anderson, and Elsie Anderson.
