Renae Fae Jorschumb Siltman was born on December 30, 1958 to Vernin and Maxine (Ecternach) Jorschumb in Wheaton, MN where she grew up on the family farm. Renae attended elementary and high school in Wheaton, graduating from Wheaton High School in 1977. She graduated from the Nursing Program as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Fergus Falls Community College in 2000. She worked at the Wheaton Bakery, the Traverse Care Center and twenty-seven years at the Wheaton Community/Sanford Wheaton Hospital. She also was a member of the Wheaton Ambulance crew for many years. She gave every one of her patients the same compassion and care that she received when she was a patient. Renae married Joe Koch Jr. in 1976. From this union came two sons who were her pride and joy, Brian Joseph and Nathan Vernin. Joe died in 2003. In 1994 she married Ted Siltman. They lived on a farm on the northern edge of Wheaton. Renae enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren who kept her busy, always willing to help out with them whenever she could and she enjoyed spending time with them. Renae enjoyed baking and gardening, especially taking care of her flowers. She loved going on camping trips with her friends and family throughout the years and had a tremendous love for animals, especially cats. Visitors to her house were always greeted with a friendly purr. Another passion of hers was NASCAR racing, making yearly bets with her grandson Hunter, never missing a race on TV. She also loved cheering on the Minnesota Twins. Renae is survived by her husband Ted Siltman of Wheaton, MN; her sons: Brian (Jill) Koch of Wheaton, MN; Nathan (Heather) Koch of Wheaton, MN; grandchildren: Cameron, Madison, Halli, Hunter and Hannah- all of who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her brothers: Doug (Renee) Jorschumb of Willmar, MN; Curt (Sharon) Jorschumb of Moorhead, MN; Keith (Ann) Jorschumb of Wheaton, MN. Renae was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; nieces: Carol and Carla Jorschumb; and nephew: Riley Jorschumb. Life is not measured with the quantity of breaths you take, but with the quantity of moments that took your breath away.
