Funeral Service for Rosella Evelyn Goodwalt, 94, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Raguse, Bryan Raguse, Jason Best, Jeremy Best, Renee Nelson and Ryan Best. Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of the Traverse Care Center . Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Rose was born on November 9, 1912 to Swan and Minnie (Larson) Anderson in rural Traverse County. She was the third eldest of twelve children. Rose attended country school and then stayed at home to assist with her younger siblings, and as a domestic assistant to neighbors. On December 24, 1936 Rose married Sam Goodwalt at Pastor Zaar's home. They were blessed with four children. Rose and Sam lived and farmed in the White Rock area. Rose's days on the farm were filled with caring for her family, preserving her garden produce, and baking and cooking for anyone who stopped by to visit. She enjoyed playing cards, singing, and playing the organ and harmonica. Rose's life was centered around her families, she especially enjoyed the small children. She was a loving caregiver all her life. Rosella passed away at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton on June 30, 2007. Rose was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church of White Rock until 1980 when they moved to Wheaton and she became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; a son, Elvin; sisters Bernice Paul, Doris Fridgen, Donna Finke, Pearl Berneking, and a baby sister; brothers Wallace, Glen, and Gordon. She is survived by daughters Evelyn (Ray) Raguse and Evonne (LeRoy) Anderson of Alexandria; Elayne (Gerald) Best of Wheaton; a sister Geneva Grothe, brothers Webber(Lois) Anderson, Darwin(Donna) Anderson, all of Wheaton, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
