She was the daughter of Gayle and the late Randolph Junior Ahrens. Recognizing the need to care for her spiritual welfare as well as her physical well-being, her parents saw to it that she became a Child of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hankinson. Later, she renewed her baptismal vows through confirmation at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota. Tami grew up in Wheaton and graduated from High School in 1978. She was married in 1985 to Mark Lackey of Rosholt, South Dakota. They were blessed with two daughters; Erin Regina, (Named after her Great-Grandmother) and Ashley Gaylin (named after her Grandmother). Tami lived for her children and family. They were the most important thing to her. She lived her life around them. She was a very strong advocate for both her daughters, and was very proud of her children and wanted only the best for them. She held her family very close to her heart. Tami and her girls moved to Wheaton in 1999. Tami currently was working at the Traverse Care Center in the activities department. She loved her job and gave it 100%. She is a member of the St. Joseph Church in Rosholt, South Dakota, where she used to teach Sunday School. Tami enjoyed being at the lake cabin with family and friends, tending to her flower garden, feeding and watching the birds, and watching and attending rodeos. She enjoyed any activity that included her girls and family. Tami will be missed by her family forever. She passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center in Wheaton.
