Ver Nell Buss, age 88, of Wheaton, Minnesota, passed away on December 8, 2025, at her home with hospice, and surrounded by family.
Ver Nell was born in Wheaton, MN, to Harry and Nimie (Lindquist) Jackson, and lived in Redpath Township, Traverse County her whole life. Ver Nell married William (Bill) Buss in 1957, and they were married for sixty-eight years.
She enjoyed working with glass, creating beautiful plates, bowls, and many other things. You could often find Ver Nell at the local craft fairs, church choir, or helping around town at various restaurants. Ver Nell worked as a receptionist at the local hospital and took great pride in work on the farm as well.
Ver Nell had a love for dogs. If it wasn't a dog of her own, she often was taking care of and bringing treats to the many family dogs. One of her favorite songs to play on the piano and sing to her grandchildren was "How Much is that Doggie in the Window." Ver Nell took great pride in sharing stories of her family history and memories. These stories and memories will be with her family for many years to come.
Ver Nell is survived by her husband Bill; children: Keith Buss, Karen Otto, and Rae Nell Buss-Erickson. Keith is married to Julie Buss and they have two children, Cassie Allmark and Lacie Thomas. Karen is married to Don Otto and they have two children, Donald and John Otto. Rae Nell is married to Evert Erickson and they have one son, Aaron Leininger. Ver Nell is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Taylor Cordato and Tiffany Allmark, Kyah and Ashton Thomas, Samantha and Ben Otto, and Kalie and Kody Leininger.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
