Wayne was born April 10, 1930 at the family farm in Parnell Township to George and Clara (Johnson) Schedin Weick. He was baptized and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church of rural Graceville. He grew up on the family farm, assisting his father with his many enterprises. Wayne attended school at District #37 in Monson Township, District #23 in Parnell Township, District #59 in Barry, and graduated in 1948 from Graceville High School.

Wayne was drafted into the US Army on February 3, 1951. He served in Japan and Korea as a supply specialist, earning an occupation medal, Japan and Korean service medals, 3 Bronze service stars, United Nations service medal and National Defense service medal. He was honorably discharged February 2, 1954.

After his military service, he returned home to the family farm. On September 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie "Midge" Haney at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville, MN. They farmed and raised a family of 3 sons and 1 daughter in Parnell Township until 1980. The family was active with horses and that tradition carries on through the grandchildren. In addition to farming, he also worked for the Traverse County Highway Department and at the Traverse Co-op Oil for 26 years. After ‘retiring' from the Co-op, he wasn't content to be idle, so he began working for RAS Farms of rural Dumont, in the spring and fall so he could still farm and run the red tractors. He also delivered boat trailers for E/Z Loader Trailers. His hobbies included horses, woodworking, attending horse pulls and Threshing Bees. His constant companion was his beloved Min Pin dog, Twiggy, for 12 years. He was a member of the Siloah Lutheran Church of rural Graceville and the Merton Dale American Legion Post #80.

Wayne is survived by four children: Dennis Weick of Wills Point, TX; Randy (Suzanne) Weick of Wheaton; Charles (Keri) Weick of Minot, ND; and Loretta (Craig) Monnens of Hulett, WY; grandchildren: Brandy (Lee) Verhelst of Canby, MN and their children Parker, Wesley and Sawyer; Samantha (Tony) Hentges of Canby, MN and their children Audrey, Wyatt, and Nolan; Cole (Stephanie) Weick of Madison, MN; Savannah (Wade) Redlin of Gary, SD and their children Brylee, Beau and Rhett; Tyrell Weick of Wheaton; Kaycee Monnens of Hulett, WY; and Wade Monnens of Hulett, WY; sisters: Lucille Lundquist, Ruth (Bill Setzer) Nelson, Janice Shepard, Donna (Norman) Snyder and Shirley (Joe) Seifert; brothers: Marvin (Mary Ann) Weick, Earnest (Jolleen) Weick and Douglas (Kyle Kunze) Weick; sisters-in-law: Carol Weick and Betty Weick; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
