E. Marie Anderson

E. Marie (Post) Anderson passed away March 3, 2021, at Tekakwitha Living Center.  She was born September 22, 1922, in Penn Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania to Clarence W. and Erie E. (Passmore) Post.  She attended rural elementary school, and graduated from Curwensville High School in 1942.  She chose to serve the Lord at a young age, and that continued to be a major part of her life.

After graduation, E. Marie took a drafting course and worked at various jobs, mostly in Philadelphia, PA.  She met Darwin G. Anderson during this time while he was in service during World War II. They were married in 1947, and she moved west to his home in NE South Dakota. Through the years she worked at family-owned resorts, was a rural school board member, substitute teacher at a rural school, did foot reflexology for many years, worked as a medication aid at Tekakwitha Living Center, was an RSVP volunteer for many years, belonged to a quilting guild, and volunteered for relay for life and other cancer organizations after she survived her cancer.

E. Marie loved meeting people and visiting with everyone.  She moved to Tekakwitha in June of 2016, and lived the remainder of her days there.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

E. Marie is survived by her two daughters, Colleen (Darryl) Siegel of Lancaster, SC and Ingrid (Gary) Lane of Jamestown, ND; five grandchildren, Alisa, Darren (Maria) and Amber Siegel and Christopher and Patrick (Rachel) Lane; four great-grandchildren, Jesse, Urban, Vienna and York; a brother-in-law Harry, and sister-in-law Beverly (Clinton) Young, plus nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Darwin, her parents, one brother (Wesley) and sister-in-law (May), two infant brothers (Emory and Oliver), three sisters (Rachel, Lillian and Ruth), cousins and a niece, (Kathaleen) plus many relatives on Darwin’s side.
