Robert (Rob) Fischer, 66, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020.
Rob was born in Presque Isle, Maine on April 30, 1953 to Harry J. Fischer Jr. and Lynette Fischer and grew up in the Dumont area, attending Graceville High School, graduating in 1972.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly after high school and proudly served his country for twenty-six years, retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Subsequent to his military career, he worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, GA as an equipment specialist. Rob was a thirty year resident of the Warner Robins, GA area and was a parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church, American Legion and was extremely active in the military community. He enjoyed playing softball and refereeing several sports to include volleyball, football and softball in the Central Georgia area as well as at Robins AFB.
He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey (Klicker) Fischer of Bonaire, GA; children, Rachel Marek (William) of Pontiac, MI and Daniel Fischer (Tamara) of Aberdeen, NC; granddaughters, Madison Hogsten of Biloxi, MS; Annabelle and Penelope and Charlotte Fischer of Aberdeen, NC.
Rob is also survived by his parents, Harry and Lynette Fischer, Graceville; Donald Fischer(Nancy), Little Rock, AR; Dana Fischer(Jan),Fayetteville, NC; Douglas Fischer(Colleen), Rapid City, SD; Carol Sweere (Dave), West Fargo, ND; Mary Jean Hormann (Steve), Estelline, SD; Laurie Karsky (Armon), Wheaton, MN; Annette Graves (John), Moorehead, MN; Ken Klicker (Karen), Menagha, MN; Linda Wanek (Mike), Doran, MN and Jane Englund, Wheaton, MN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law Don Klicker; mother-in-law Ruth (Swanson) Klicker and brother-in-law Gary Klicker.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Laurie and Armon Karsky residence, 801 11th St. N. in Wheaton.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests donations be made to the Merton-Dale American Legion Post #80, Wheaton, MN.
